Cardi B and Offset finally shared pictures showing their seven-month-old son’s face and revealed his name to be Wave Set Cephus. And now the singer and the rapper revealed why they waited a while before showing off their second child and announcing his name.
In a new interview with Essence, Cardi B spoke about the trolling their daughter Kulture had received and why it made them wary of sharing too much. She shared, “So many people will post mean, disgusting things, just to get a reaction from us.” The I Like It hitmaker went on to say, “We went through a lot of sad things when it comes to Kulture, terrible behaviour that not even the older kids have ever been through.”
However, when Cardi B and Offset baby boy was born in September 2021, the couple decided to wait so that they wouldn’t have to put themselves through the same experience. Cardi revealed, “We want to protect our feelings because we get very, very angry and upset.” Moreover, the relentless online bullying recently led Cardi to make her daughter’s Instagram page private.
The happy family are featured on the cover of the magazine, with their two kids as well as Offset’s three older children from three previous relationships, daughter Kalea, and sons Jordan, and Kody. Cardi is seen wearing a stunning lilac tulle gown with a high collar, as she holds baby boy Wave in her arms. Meanwhile, her husband is in a blue vest and pants, as he holds Kulture while she plants a kiss on his cheek.
Elsewhere in the interview, Cardi revealed that she takes her role as a stepmom very seriously, and never wants Offset’s kids to feel left out. “After we got married, that’s when I first met his kids. I always wanted them to love me, and they really do. They tell me that. I feel it, and I hope that we always have a great relationship,” she revealed. Offset affirmed that the way his wife has navigated motherhood and the challenges of being a stepparent has made life smooth for the blended family.
