Why Andrew Garfield Is Taking A Break From Acting Career?

Andrew Garfield Garfield has had quite a busy schedule in the past year and most recently received his second Oscar nomination for his work in Tick, Tick… Boom!

Andrew Garfield kicked off his acting career in 2005 with the teen drama Sugar Rush. The actor got fame in 2007 when he appeared in series three of the BBC’s Doctor Who. However, Garfield got worldwide recognition with Spider-Man movies. Most recently, he starred alongside Vanessa Hudgens in Tick Tick Boom.

However, with a long list of movies and awards, Andrew Garfield has decided to take a break from his busy career. In a new interview with Variety, the actor announced that he will be stepping back from acting in order to ‘rest for a little bit’ and ‘be a bit ordinary.’ The actor confessed, “I need to recalibrate and reconsider what I want to do next and who I want to be, and just be a bit of a person for a while.”

The Amazing Spider-Man star also compared the awards season to a churning ‘washing machine’ saying, ‘That is a washing machine, that awards season.’ Garfield has had quite a busy schedule in the past year and most recently received his second Oscar nomination for his work in Tick, Tick… Boom! He also recently reprised his superhero role in Spider-Man No Way Home.

Andrew got much acclaim for his portrayal of controversial American televangelist Jim Bakker alongside Jessica Chastain in The Eyes of Tammy Faye. The actor will now be the star of the upcoming true-crime drama Under the Banner of Heaven, an FX series adaptation of Jon Krakauer’s 2003 book of the same name. However, it comes after Andrew allegedly split with his girlfriend Alyssa.

It was reported that Garfield and Alyssa break up because their work schedules made it ‘hard to see each other.’ The Spider-Man star was first linked to the American model last November. While Sports Illustrated beauty Alyssa accompanied the accoladed film star at February’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, Andrew attended last month’s Oscars solo, where he lost out on the Best Actor award to Will Smith.
