After J-Hope completed his mandatory military service, rumours about a BTS reunion began circulating around the internet. BTS Army (fans) was excited about the possibility of a 2025 reunion and even a world tour. However, new reports suggest that the reunion might be delayed until 2026. The agency behind BTS, HYBE confirmed they are still talking to the members about future plans but it looks like the full group comeback will take longer than expected.
In HYBE’s Q3 earnings call on November 5, CFO Lee Kyung Joon mentioned that the reunion might not happen in 2025. He said that the agency is planning for activities in 2026 and that while a full group comeback would bring in a lot of money, other ventures the company is working on might affect how much BTS’ return would contribute.
Jin and J-Hope have already finished their military service but the rest of the members will finish by mid-2025. Many fans were hoping that BTS would reunite right after that but HYBE’s recent update suggests the wait might be a little longer. And fans are still hopeful, while the agency is taking time to make sure the group’s return is well-planned.
The news has brought mixed reactions from fans. Some are disappointed by the delay, while others are understanding, knowing that the members need time to focus on their solo projects. One fan said, “I can’t wait for the BTS reunion, but I’m happy the members are working on their solo music too.” Another fan clarified, “BTS never promised a music comeback in 2025, just a reunion. I can wait.”
Even though the BTS reunion may be delayed, the members continue to work on solo projects. Jin will release his first solo album Happy in November 2024 and J-Hope has hinted at more solo music. Fans are still excited to see the seven members together again, but it looks like they will have to be patient a little longer.
