The first look poster for the upcoming instalment, Fast X revealed. In the poster, Dominic ‘Dom’ Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, prayed hard as the franchise came near to an end. The street racer in the Fast & Furious franchise was shown with his eyes closed and eyebrows furrowed while clutching the silver crucifix he gave to his wife Letty, portrayed by Michelle Rodriguez.
The tagline for the poster read, ‘The End Of The Road Begins’. Meanwhile, alongside the poster, Diesel penned in the caption, “We’re almost there… We can’t wait to share a taste of what’s coming…” The actor also revealed when fans could finally get to stream the first teaser trailer of the highly anticipated instalment. Continuing in the caption, Diesel wrote, “The Fast X trailer debuts worldwide on February 10th, 8 a.m. pacific!” Fast X is scheduled to be released in theatres on May 19.
The tenth instalment in the franchise is directed by Transporter director Louis Leterrier. Most of the details of Fast X have been kept under wraps. But it is expected that the film will follow, Dominic Toretto and his crew who seek help in their fight against Cipher when she recruits Dante, played by Jason Momoa, a mysterious new adversary.
Fast X will feature an ensemble cast that includes previous stars from the franchise, including Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang and Scott Eastwood. The tenth instalment also will feature newcomers Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson and Rita Moreno. Fast X is the first part of the franchise’s two-part finale.
For the unversed, the franchise started with the 2001 film The Fast And The Furious which starred Vin as Dom and the late Paul Walker as Brian O’Conner. Paul died in November 2013 at age 40 from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle collision while riding as a passenger in a speeding car. He had not yet completed filming of the 2015 film Furious 7 at the time of his death and his brothers Cody and Caleb were used as stand-ins to complete the rewritten film.
