Travis Barker Is Proud Of His Daughter As She Fly For First Time After Deadly 2008 Crash

Travis boarded a plane last year for the first time since surviving a horrific plane crash in 2008 that claimed four lives.

Travis Barker is reaping praise on his daughter Alabama for overcoming her fear of flying in order to celebrate his 46th birthday with him in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. “I’m so proud of you for flying,” wrote the Blink-182 drummer, who shared a snapshot of himself and the 15-year-old that was taken during the recent family getaway.

Alabama also commented “Love you the most” on Travis’ vacation post, which prompted him to write, “love you more @alabamaluellabarker I’m so proud of you for flying.” Joining them on the trip to Cabo was Alabama’s brother Landon, Travis’ fiancee Kourtney Kardashian, and two of the three young children she shares with ex Scott Disick.

However, earlier this year, Travis boarded a plane for the first time since surviving a horrific plane crash in 2008 that claimed four lives. Meanwhile, in his 2015 memoir, entitled Can I Say, Barker claimed that Alabama, who was just three at the time, could tell that something wasn’t right about the plane he was set to board with his collaborator DJ AM, security guard, assistant, and two pilots.

Travis, who shares Alabama and Landon with his second wife Shanna Moakler, recalled, “She just kept saying, ‘The roof’s gonna come off. Dad, the roof’s gonna come off.'” Travis and his crew had just played a show in South Carolina and were boarding a plane to their next destination, which would crash shortly after takeoff. Barker and DJ AM were the only two out of the six passengers to survive the horrific crash. They each suffered second and third-degree burns.

However, DJ AM, born Adam Michael Goldstein, sadly passed away in 2009 from a prescription drug overdose, as reported by People at the time. In August, Barker took his first flight to the same destination at his most recent birthday trip, Cabo San Lucas, on a private flight with Kourtney. He revealed that it was the 42-year-old POOSH founder who convinced him to overcome his fear of flying.
