The Blink-182 drummer, who boasts roughly 100 tattoos, had recently posted a shirtless portrait of himself with his inkings on display, which prompted a rude comment from a follower. “The tattoos really look ridiculous, Travis. When you get older, you are going to regret it,” the comment reads.
However, the 46-year-old tattoo enthusiast was not one to let the troll drag him for his now-signature look and mention that he would dislike them in years to come. “When I’m older I’m probably gonna hang out with other badass tattooed dudes and generally look awesome,” Barker replied. “What are you gonna do when you just look like every other old person?”
However, the Blink-182 drummer’s tattooed body has become a signature part of his look, and he continues to embrace them. Earlier the drummer revealed that he had about 70 percent of his body covered in ink after losing all the tattoos on his legs and feet after suffering third-degree burns from his 2008 plane crash.
Travis Barker got his very first inking when he was just 15-years-old and frequently inks over things on his body. “They’re all memories. They’re all experiences I went through,” he told GQ of his tattoos in 2016. “When I’m dead and gone I want people to be able to look at my body and basically relive my life in some ways.”
Barker also spoke about letting his kids Landon, 18, Alabama, 15, and step-daughter Atiana, 22, tattoo him as well. “I have this portion on my thigh where basically anytime I get tattooed, if they’re around and they want to, they can grab the gun and doodle on me. It’s like a sketchbook. Those are the memories that are really priceless.”
Additionally just months into his relationship with now-fiancee Kourtney Kardashian he let her tattoo the words ‘I love you’ in her handwriting on his arm as he called her a ‘woman of many talents.’ Travis also has three more dedicated to the Poosh founder including the words ‘you’re so cool’ in her handwriting on his hip, her name on his chest, and her lips on his inner bicep.
