Netflix Revealed Top 10 Most Watched Movies EVER

From Sandra Bullock's Bird Box to Joey King's The Kissing Booth 2, here are the films that have been watched for the most hours based on their first 28 days of being released.

Netflix has recently revealed a list of its top ten most-watched movies across the globe. The Top ten Netflix movie list also includes star-studded movies such as Red Notice, Don’t Look Up and The Irishman. Moreover, films starring the likes of Ryan Reynolds, Sandra Bullock and Leonardo DiCaprio have enjoyed the most success on the streaming service, with millions of users tuning in across the globe. Following recent praise, the streamer has received for newer releases such as Adam Sandler-fronted film Hustle and award-winning flick, The Power of the Dog, here is the list of most-viewed Netflix original movies to date.

10. Spenser Confidential
The tenth spot is bagged by Mark Wahlberg starring film, Spenser Confidential. It wasn’t well-liked by reviewers with a score of just 37 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes. However, audiences gave a higher score of 51 per cent with watching 197,320,000 hours. Spenser Confidential follows a former police detective who returns to Boston’s criminal underworld to unravel a twisted murder conspiracy.

9. 6 Underground
Ryan Reynolds starring movie 6 Underground bagged the ninth place in the list. The movie follows six individuals from all around the globe, each the very best at what they do, who have been chosen not only for their skill but for a unique desire to delete their pasts to change the future.

8. The Kissing Booth 2
Despite getting bad reviews on the Rotten Tomatoes, The Kissing Booth 2 is watched by viewers for more than two million hours. Starring Joey King and Euphoria star Jacob Elordi, The Kissing Booth trilogy follows Elle Evans (King) as she faces her senior year of high school while her boyfriend Noah Flynn (Elordi) is making new friends at Harvard University. She then finds herself dealing with a distraction in the form of the ‘seriously luscious’ Marco, played by Taylor Zakhar Perez.

7. The Irishman
The 2019 Netflix movie received a 95 per cent score from reviewers and 86 per cent from the audience on Rotten Tomatoes. The Irishman, set in the 1950s, follows a truck driver Frank Sheeran who gets involved with Russell Bufalino and his Pennsylvania crime family. As Sheeran climbs the ranks to become a top hit man, he also goes to work for Jimmy Hoffa, a powerful Teamster tied to organized crime.

6. The Unforgivable
The film didn’t get much love from the critic but it has been watched for more than two hundred million hours. Netflix’s The Unforgivable deals with an ex-convict, Ruth Slater who gets separated from her five-year-old sister, Katherine, after committing a murder and tries to locate her after serving a 20-year sentence.

5. Extraction
Chris Hemsworth starring the 2020 film, Extraction, follows a black-market mercenary, who has nothing to lose and is hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. But in the dark underworld, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible. After the huge success of the movie, Extraction 2 was announced and set to release in 2023.

4. The Adam Project
Ryan Reynolds and Jennifer Garner, starring movie, The Adam Project, follow a time-travelling fighter pilot, Adam Reed, who accidentally crash-landing in 2022. He has to team up with his 12-year-old self on a mission to save the future.

3. Bird Box
Netflix’s Bird Box is the third most-watched movie. The dystopian thriller was the first big hit for Netflix and even received a favourable 64 per cent rating from critics. Sandra Bullock starring in the lead follows a mother and her two children who are trying to save themselves from a mysterious force that destroys the population. However, the only thing certain is, if you see it, you die.

2. Don’t Look Up
Coming in second place is Don’t Look Up, one of only two movies to cross the 300 million mark so far. Oscar-winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence starred as astronomers Dr Randall Mindy and Kate Dibiasky, who go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy Earth.

1. Red Notice
The number one spot has been bagged by Netflix’s hit movie, Red Notice. Despite critics’ poor reviews, viewers made Red Notice Netflix’s biggest opening in the streaming service’s history. The action-comedy movie sees Dwayne The Rock Johnson as FBI agent John Hartley, who unwillingly joins forces with renowned art thief Nolan Booth aka Ryan Reynolds, in a bad to catch an even more notorious criminal played by Gal Gadot.
