Tobey Maguire’s ex-wife, Jennifer Meyer, recently made a rare comment about her split from the actor. While speaking to her close friends Erin and Sara Foster during an interview on World’s First Podcast, Meyer gushed about her very amicable split from the Spider-Man actor, back in 2016 following nine years of marriage and two children.
Jennifer Meyer reflected, “I was able to make a conscious decision about how this breakup was going to go and trust that the universe had my back, had our back as a couple for our children, for all of these things, and really, it’s been the most beautiful experience of my life having this beautiful breakup.” The daughter of former movie mogul Ron Meyer added, “I would literally do anything in the world for Tobey. He is my brother. I love him to death and we have the most beautiful family.”
Meyer, who calls Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox some of her best friends, officially filed for divorce in 2020, four years after announcing they called it quits. The former couple, who started dating in 2003, share 15-year-old daughter Ruby and 13-year-old son Otis. Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer announced their breakup in a statement released via People.

The statement read, “After many souls searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple. As devoted parents, our first priority remains to raise our children together with enduring love, respect and friendship.” However, even after all this time, their divorce has yet to be completed. Tobey, who broke up with model Tatiana Dieteman after more than three years together back in February, has talked about wanting ‘security and comfort,’ in his life following a rocky childhood.
In 2007, Maguire told David Letterman he loved his new life as husband and father. “It’s a very dramatic change,” said the former child model and actor. “My whole life is in transition now with friendships and where I’m gonna live, you know, just your whole perspective. It’s great.” Tobey is best known for starring in Spider-Man movie, which was the biggest movie of 2003, grossing over $400 million.
