‘The Wrecking Crew’: Temuera Morrison and Jacob Batalon to Star in the Action Comedy

The Upcoming Film Promises Explosive Fun with a Fresh Take on Classic Action Tropes

Temuera Morrison and Jacob Batalon have signed on to star in the upcoming action-comedy film The Wrecking Crew. The film, directed by Ángel Manuel Soto, known for making DC’s Blue Beetle, is set to begin production in October in New Zealand and promises to deliver a mix of thrilling action sequences and comedic moments that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

The list of newly added star cast also includes Stephen Root, Frankie Adams, Claes Bang and Miyavi. The actors have joined Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa for the Amazon MGM Studios film.

Written by Jonathan Tropper, The Wrecking Crew follows the story of two half brothers — one a disciplined Navy SEAL, played by Dave Bautista and the other one a cannon cop, portrayed by Jason Momoa, who have to work together to unveil the conspiracy in Hawaii about their father’s murder.

Morrison, known for his roles in The Mandalorian and Aquaman, will portray the governor of Hawaii, bringing his signature tough-guy persona to the role. Meanwhile, Batalon, who charmed audiences as Ned in the Spider-Man franchise, will play a young, street-savvy investigator, who knows the brother’s father and is the one whose unorthodox skills prove vital to the team’s success.

The Wrecking Crew will be produced by  Lynn Harris of 6th & Idaho along with Bautista, Momoa, Jeffrey Fierson and Matt Reeves.

With production set to begin soon, anticipation for The Wrecking Crew is already building. The film is expected to combine high-octane action with laugh-out-loud comedy, providing a fresh take on the genre. As Morrison and Batalon gear up to lead the charge, fans can look forward to a film that offers both explosive thrills and memorable characters.

The Wrecking Crew release details remain under wraps, but the makers can release the film by late 2025, aiming to capture the attention of audiences worldwide with its unique blend of action and comedy.
