Matt Reeves, director of the film revealed the first poster of the film on Twitter Thursday, adding the drop was “for the fans.”
“Excited to share the very first look at our official #TheB
atman logo, and some very cool additional #DCFanDome artwork by the amazing @jimlee,” Reeves tweet read.
He added, “See more of #TheBatman at the #DCFanDome global event in the Hall of Heroes this Saturday, 8/22! #TheBatman #DCFanDome #ForTheFans.”
The poster and logo show a black and red color scheme that tap into a noir look — something Reeves has said before is the genre of this Batman movies iteration.
In June 2019 Reeves told The Hollywood Reporter that the films were a trilogy and “very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale.”
“It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional,” Reeves stated.“It’s more Batman in his detective mode that we’ve seen in the films.”
In a December 2019 interview with Willie Geist for NBC News’ Sunday Today, Pattinson said he did not consider Batman as a “superhero.”
“Batman’s not a superhero,” he claimed.“It’s weird. I always balk at it. I’m like, it doesn’t count. You need to have, like, magical powers to be a superhero.”
It is confirmed that Bruce Wayne the character of Robert Pattinson will star in a much younger role and the film will have a bunch of new villains such as The Penguin and The Riddler. In previous interviews Matt Reeves disclosed that his film will focus on Batman’s identity as the best detective in the world.
Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Real, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell as The Penguin are all part of the entire cast of the film.
The Batman is scheduled to open in June 2021 in theatres.
