Taylor Swift Teases More ‘Midnights’ Lyrics On Billboards

Midnights marks yet another phase in Taylor Swift's massive song output in recent years.

Ahead of the release of the new album Midnights, Taylor Swift pull the curtain from the lyrics. The pop superstar took to social media and revealed, ‘Our last midnight before Midnights,’ along with a 1970s retro promo photo of Swift laying back on a couch in a room full of wood panelling.

Midnights marks another phase in the singer-songwriter’s massive song creation in recent years, where she’s released four studio albums since Lover dropped in August 2019. ‘Our last midnight before Midnights’ is a play with words on the fact this will be the last midnight before the new record is released on Friday, October 21. Moreover, Swift also teamed up with Spotify to help build up the hype by releasing snippets of lyrics from Midnights.

The singer has been revealing random lyrics on billboards all across the world of late, as reported by Billboard. The first lyrics started popping up in New York City’s Times Square on Monday, October 17. At the stroke of midnight, a massive vertical sign on one end of the plaza lit up with the lyric ‘I should not be left to my own devices.’ The next space was in London, England, with just a five-word excerpt from her album, ‘I polish up real nice.’

In the latest reveals, a Sao Paulo, Brazil, train station lit up at midnight local time showcasing in bright purple lettering and the lyric: ‘Just like clockwork, the dominoes cascaded in a line.’ There’s also one on the side of Nashville’s 1720 West End building, displaying the words: ‘Did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room?’

Come midnight Thursday morning, October 20, fans may very well have another lyric billboard to pore over but only time will tell what that location will be. In recent weeks, the songstress took to social media to showcase the four different album covers she has printed for the vinyl editions. Swift’s new album, Midnights, which has 13 new songs and three extra on the deluxe version, is set to drop on October 21.
