Squid Game Actress HoYeon Jung Lost ‘Way Too Much Weight’

Squid Game star HoYeon Jung confessed that she had lost weight recently and blamed it on her busy promotional schedule for Squid Game in the United States.

Squid Game star HoYeon Jung recently addressed her apparent rapid weight loss following the success of the Netflix series. However, fans first noticed and shared their concern over her strikingly thin appearance on social media, during and after, she attended the 2021 LACMA Art & Film Gala held in Los Angeles on November 6, 2021.

In a recent interview with Star-News, via AllKpop, the model-turned-actress confessed that she had lost weight recently and blamed it on her busy promotional schedule for Squid Game in the United States. The actress maintains that she “didn’t even have any time to eat” during all of the travel, promotional appearances, and interviews. “So, I lost way too much weight. All the clothes that used to fit me when I first came here to America are too loose now,” Seoul, a South Korean native confessed during another interview.

Meanwhile, a particular photo, taken amid the tenth annual LACMA Art & Film Gala, which she posted on Instagram, seemed to garner the most concern. For the photo, Jung chooses a rather generic pose, wearing a plunging, sleeveless black dress that showcases much of her ultra-lean upper body. Jung also addressed her weight loss earlier in December, after Squid Game had set a new record for the most-watched show on Netflix.

Although, there were plenty of complimentary comments like, ‘Pretty’, ‘Rockstar’, ‘Cute’ and ‘SHES SO PRETTY AM I RIGHT?’, there were also people who shared their concern for her health. “Your really beautiful but I got worried about the one in the black dress are you okay or eating well take care of yourself you and your health come first,” one person commented.

Squid Game, a South Korean survival drama streaming series created by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix, follows a contest where 456 players, all of whom are in deep financial debt, risk their lives to play a series of deadly children’s games for the chance to win a huge amount of money. Along with Jung, the cast also includes Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-joonO Ye, Hae-soo, Sung-taeAnupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-ryoung. Since its release in September, Squid Game has become the most tweeted about show on streaming television in the United States for all of 2021.
