Shawn Mendes Postpones Several Of His Tour Dates To Focus On His Mental Health

Shawn Mendes expressed that he was never particularly fond of spending long periods of time away from his loved ones.

Shawn Mendes announced that he would be postponing several of his upcoming tour dates with a post shared on his Instagram. The singer mentioned his commitment to his mental health as the reason for the sudden stoppage of his planned tours. Wonder: The World Tour previously kicked off last month in Portland, and it was scheduled to continue until August of next year.

However, Mendes began his lengthy Instagram post writing, “This breaks my heart to have to say this, but unfortunately I’m going to have to postpone the next three weeks of shows through Uncasville, CT until further notice.” The singer then expressed that he was never particularly fond of spending long periods of time away from his loved ones.

Shawn shared, “I’ve been touring since I was 15 and, to be honest, it’s always been difficult to be on the road away from friends and family.” Mendes also stated that, although he was previously committed to getting back to touring, he felt that it would be best to take time off from his schedule. “After a few years off the road, I was ready to dive back in, but the decision was premature, and unfortunately, the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me and I’ve hit a breaking point,” he added.

The hitmaker then noted that he had consulted several individuals before making the decision to postpone his tour dates. Shawn also revealed that he needs some time to heal and take care of himself and his mental health, first and foremost. Mendes concluded his lengthy post while noting, “As soon as there are more updates I promise I will let you know love, you guys.”

Previously, Shawn Mendes admitted that he’s having a ‘hard time’ on social media shortly after his ex-Camila Cabello took an online break. The singer shared a video on his Instagram and opened up while talking about his new song It’ll Be Okay in a nearly two-minute video clip for his followers. Shawn started the video while saying about his presence on social media, “I’m a having a little bit of a hard time at the moment and just kind of my relationship with it.”
