After the news of Sex And The City limited series reboot in the works at HBO Max got viral, Kim Cattrall who is not returning to the series as Samantha Jones gave her honest reaction on it along with shedding some light on the reason why she isn't coming back to the series in a recent interview.

One of the most cult and loveable series and films of all times that is loved by youth all across the globe is Sex And The City. The much awaited reboot version of the commercially successful series and film is finally going to happen now where fans be prepared to get sad as your favourite character Samantha won’t be there this time around since this is a happening and mellow news at same time that Sex And The City reboot without Samantha on cards .

This is true that after so much of speculative media stories and reports, it’s been officially announced by the channel HBO Max that this time it is going to be the much awaited Sex And The City reboot without Samantha on cards.

Reports say that a Sex And The City reboot on HBO Max is happening and the most loved and cult character Samantha Jones won’t be there this time where fans have to get prepared to say a good bye to Samantha Jones. Versatile and affable Hollywood film / TV star Kim Cattrall who played the character of Samantha Jones in Sex And The City movies and series, had a very surprising reaction to this news.

A leading international newspaper publication on Tuesday reported that currently a Sex And The City limited edition series in the works at HBO Max. The newspaper report also clearly mentioned the fact that three out of four stars are all set and ready to reprise their roles in the Sex And The City limited edition reboot series which includes Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) where the only character that is not returning is Kim Cattrall who played Samantha Jones from seasons 1 to 6 of the HBO series.

The ardent and passionate fandom of Sex And The City should not be shocked and surprised about Kim not being part of this reboot version series as in an interview dated 2019 with a leading international digital publication, Kim said, “It’s a no from me. You learn lessons in life and my lesson is to do work with good people and try and make it fun”.

This comment of hers apparently came after her feud with Sarah Jessica Parker, who Kim had slammed and bashed back in 2017 when Sarah confirmed that a third installment movie of Sex And The City has been cancelled because Kim decided of not returning back to the franchise. On this Kim had said, “I hate to be a spoilsport, but what would the next story be? Whether you liked it or not, the reality is, authentically there were not alternative facts here! — there was backlash”.

Kim during her interview in 2017 with a leading international entertainment portal had also said, “The reality of what [a third movie] would be—there’s nothing concrete”.

In her latest interview with a leading international publication when asked on her reaction of the Sex And The City reboot happening, Kim says, “It was a lot of fun and I loved it and being in new territory is always exciting. I felt like we were”.

She also told,  “Walking away, even if it’s the only thing to do, you always feel, it’s a bit of shame, I think. The taste of shame and you have to let go of that. You don’t want to become that caged bird”.

Kim also answered honestly about the trolling and backlash she got for not wanting to play Samantha again in the interview and told, “I remember getting a lot of grief on social media for not wanting to do a film. It was astonishing some of the things people wrote to me – ’I work in a bank and I don’t like this person and I don’t like the hours, but I do it. So you just do it! Give me what I want. I do it. I’m miserable, you be miserable too”.

Kim also explained of how she feels really ‘lucky’ to have the ‘choice’ of not playing the character of Samantha again. She elucidating on same asserted, “I’m lucky enough to have the choice, not that I haven’t worked for it. I have. It’s something I feel very lucky to have and I’m very protective of it. I wouldn’t be any good doing something that I really didn’t want to do”.

She concluded the interview by saying, “I want to use my platform to tell stories about women my age who have gone through loss. Loss is the biggest headache for my ’60s so far, I’ve lost my father. I’ve lost my brother”. The release date for the Sex And The City reboot has not been officially announced yet.
