You learn lessons in life and my lesson is to do work with good people and try and make it fun”.
This comment of hers apparently came after her feud with Sarah Jessica Parker, who Kim had slammed and bashed back in 2017 when Sarah confirmed that a third installment movie of Sex And The City has been cancelled because Kim decided of not returning back to the franchise. On this Kim had said, “I hate to be a spoilsport, but what would the next story be? Whether you liked it or not, the reality is, authentically there were not alternative facts here! — there was backlash”.
Kim during her interview in 2017 with a leading international entertainment portal had also said, “The reality of what [a third movie] would be—there’s nothing concrete”.
In her latest interview with a leading international publication when asked on her reaction of the Sex And The City reboot happening, Kim says, “It was a lot of fun and I loved it and being in new territory is always exciting. I felt like we were”.
She also told, “Walking away, even if it’s the only thing to do, you always feel, it’s a bit of shame, I think. The taste of shame and you have to let go of that. You don’t want to become that caged bird”.
Kim also answered honestly about the trolling and backlash she got for not wanting to play Samantha again in the interview and told, “I remember getting a lot of grief on social media for not wanting to do a film. It was astonishing some of the things people wrote to me – ’I work in a bank and I don’t like this person and I don’t like the hours, but I do it. So you just do it! Give me what I want. I do it. I’m miserable, you be miserable too”.
Kim also explained of how she feels really ‘lucky’ to have the ‘choice’ of not playing the character of Samantha again. She elucidating on same asserted, “I’m lucky enough to have the choice, not that I haven’t worked for it. I have. It’s something I feel very lucky to have and I’m very protective of it. I wouldn’t be any good doing something that I really didn’t want to do”.
She concluded the interview by saying, “I want to use my platform to tell stories about women my age who have gone through loss. Loss is the biggest headache for my ’60s so far, I’ve lost my father. I’ve lost my brother”. The release date for the Sex And The City reboot has not been officially announced yet.
