The “Ice Cream” singer and now part owner of an iconic NYC Ice cream brand “Serendipity”, Selena Gomez is not scared anymore as she shows her kidney transplant scar in new bathing suit photo.

3 years back on 24th September 2017, Selena received a kidney transplant from her friend and “Grown-ish” actress Francia Raisa after she got diagnosed with having the complications from the lupus.

She then shared and emotional message through her instagram post where she is proudly showing off her kidney transplant scar.

Her caption for the photo read, “When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar. I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through…and I’m proud of that”.

Later in the same caption the actress continued and added that she is very proud of the swimwear company La’Mariette, whose bathing suit she is wearing in the photo, for their underlying yet powerful message that “all bodies are beautiful.”

While Selena’s scar was seen by the media and paparazzi back in 2018, but this is actually the first time ever that the “I Can’t Get Enough” (2019) singer has come forward willingly and shared her scar picture on Instagram with all her friends, fans and her family too.

Also she commemorated and remembered her life saving surgery in another way. Where in January 2020, she came forward and spoke about getting a permanent tattoo done of her surgery’s date in an interview with a leading international radio station. She also mentioned about the fact that even her friend Francia Raisa has the same ink.

The 13 Reasons Why producer, whose latest album Rare has been one of her most raw and emotional piece of music till date, also recently opened up about her bipolar behavioral disorder when she went virtually live with Miley Cyrus on her Bright Minded Instagram series.

“I wanted to know everything about [bipolar disorder] and it took the fear away,” Selena explained to her former Disney Channel co-star Miley on her Instagram series ‘Bright Minded’.

Further she also told, “When I was younger, I was scared of thunderstorms and my mom bought me all these different books on thunderstorms, so she’s like, ‘The more that you educate yourself on this, the more that you’re not gonna be afraid’ and it completely worked and that’s kind of something that helps me big time.”

If there’s one thing that Selena has honestly learned from the past few years of her life which has been full of experiences and challenges, it is the fact that there is real power in staying vulnerable.
