On Sunday, February 26, American singer, actress, and producer Selena Gomez was nowhere to be found at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Despite being nominated for three awards at the illustrious ceremony, Selena and her co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin did not attend. The group made an appearance in a pre-recorded sketch during the event’s opening. Moreover, Cara Delevingne and Ashley Park, two additional stars from the series, did pose for photos with the paparazzi.
According to Elle magazine, the singer may have decided to skip the red carpet at the 2023 SAG Awards today because she is in New York City filming the third season of her show Only Murders in the Building.Three categories, including “Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series” for Martin Short and Steve Martin, were nominated for the comedy series during the ceremony today. Yet neither performer took home the prize.
Also, the show received a nomination for “Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Series.” It did not, however, take home any prizes.
Selena recently made headlines for sticking up for her best friend Taylor Swift after a video of Hailey Bieber mocking Tay surfaced.”So sorry, my closest buddy is and continues to be the best in the game,” Selena Gomez wrote in reaction to the video. Selena also announced a hiatus from social media shortly after the scandal.
