In an exciting addition to the cast, as Jasmin Savoy Brown returns for 'Scream 7' and Joel McHale joins as Sidney's husband. How will the story unfold!

The highly anticipated Scream 7 is shaping up to be a thrilling addition to the beloved horror franchise. Jasmin Savoy Brown is officially back as Mindy Meeks-Martin, a fan-favourite character known for her wit and unique presence as reported by Variety. Adding to the excitement, as reported by Deadline Joel McHale has also joined this amazing cast as Mark Evans, the husband of Sidney Prescot which was earlier portrayed by veteran star Neve Campbell. This marks a fresh turn for Sidney’s storyline, putting her family front and centre.

Joel McHale, known for Community and Yellowjackets, steps into the role of Sidney’s spouse, a character different from the previously speculated Detective Mark Kincaid from Scream 3. Meanwhile, Brown’s return as Mindy promises continuity and deeper character exploration, especially as she reunites with Mason Gooding who plays her twin brother, Chad. Fans will remember their dynamic in the previous installments as a mix of humour and survival instincts.

Directed by Scream creator Kevin Williamson, Scream 7 promises to revisit its roots while introducing fresh faces. Isabel May joins as Sidney’s daughter, alongside a cast that includes Celeste O’Connor, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Asa Germann, and Anna Camp. Williamson, the writer of the original Scream, takes the director’s chair for the first time, with Guy Busick handling the script.

The plot remains under wraps, but the inclusion of Sidney’s family and the return of franchise veterans like Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers hints at a nostalgic yet refreshing narrative. Filming is currently underway in Atlanta, with the movie set for a theatrical release on February 27, 2026.

Brown’s character, Mindy, has brought diversity and humour to the franchise, being the first queer character in its history. Her return, combined with McHale’s debut, has fans buzzing about the intriguing directions the story might take.
