Finally the trailer of Scream 6 is out and it begins with survivors from Scream 2022 (including Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter, Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter, ) leaving Woodsboro behind and starting a fresh chapter in New York. But they are followed by a very different Ghostface than ever before. Jenna Ortega has recently became a household name after playing a titular role in new Netflix series titled Wednesday.
The trailer of Scream 6 also features Hayden Panettiere as Scream 4 fan-favorite Kirby Reed, Courteney Cox as intrepid TV reporter Gale Weathers and Ghostface is also after them. We even get a glimpse of a shrine to the history of Ghostface. There is also a call back to the most iconic scene of the franchise “Wanna play a game?”
The sixth instalment also seems to have taken a detour from comical tone and meta references and have opted for a more serious tone. There is never been a ‘Ghostface’ like this before. But it makes sense if this was one of the more intense entries of the franchise.
The new trailer promises a lot of mystery, thrill and suspense and it’s no secret that the new trailer is only the tip of the iceberg. Scream 6 will arrive in cinemas on March 10, 2023.
