Audiences of HBO’s “Perry Mason” ATX TV … got an unexpected guest from the Couch panel on Friday night when executive producer Robert Downey Jr. crashed in to say hello.

When panel members, including Downey ‘s wife Susan, who is also an executive producer on the series were asked by the moderator when “Perry Mason” debuts, Downey came into the screen announcing he could answer that question.

“I have been on my heels for 92 minutes,” Downey exclaimed during an interview that was pre-recorded. “First I would like to say the usual: you’re welcome.”

He added that the show will feature at 9 p.m. June 21.

“That’s the slot, by the way. That 9 p.m. Sunday slot, that’s the good one,”  he said.

Actors Matthew Rhys, Tatiana Maslany, Juliet Rylance, Chris Chalk, John Lithgow, and Shea Whigham, as well as founders Rolin Jones and Ron Fitzgerald and director Timothy Van Patten, was also on the panel.

Just before the panel finally wrapped up, Downey jokingly said, “I’ve literally been sitting here the whole time, this long format, I actually understand what the show is now, I want to thank you.”
