According to a new report, Rita Ora is officially married. After a year and a half of dating, according to The Sun, the British singer, 31, allegedly wed the 46-year-old New Zealand film director Taika Waititi in an ‘intimate’ ceremony and flashed her wedding ring in Paris. A source reportedly told The Sun, “It was a really intimate ceremony and super special for everyone there. Their nearest and dearest can see how madly in love they are.”
The source added, “Despite living in the spotlight, Rita is determined to keep the relationship as private as possible and didn’t want to make a big song and dance about the wedding.” The site also reports that they will hold a second, even bigger party. The insider allegedly told the magazine, “A big, showbiz-style bash is planned to celebrate, but don’t expect to see it being flogged to the highest-bidding magazine.”
They stated Rita’s already back in the studio working on her third album, with her latest session being with Ava Max and Noah Cyrus’ writer Rollo.” Three months after dating rumours initially surfaced, in August 2021, Rita and Taika finally made their alleged romance public. When they went to see the premiere of The Suicide Squad together, they formally acknowledged that their relationship was genuine.
Since then, Taika’s 46th birthday celebration over the summer was one of many memorable occasions the two have shared. Rita officially launched the romantic Instagram account on the occasion. Rita and Taika’s relationship truly took off in May 2021, when they were both spotted making out with Tessa Thompson from Thor: Love & Thunder in Australia.
Later, in July, Taika addressed the infamous photographs for the first time. “I think, in the world of the Internet, everything goes away pretty quick,” he explained. “And also, is it that big a deal? No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It’s fine.” Rita shared a sweet photo of her and Taika with the caption, “Us, four years ago. To now. Thanks for being cool, and entertaining me forever.” They lived in Sydney, LA, and are currently in London.
