New year, old relationship? Rihanna and her famous ex-BF Drake were spotted at an A$AP Rocky concert in New York on January 17th – the SAME DAY of her breakup news from her billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel of around three years broke. The Stay singer and the One Dance rapper attended the concert as a part of ‘Yams Day’. A fan of the couple even secretly captured a video of the two together. Drizzy and Riri seem to always have one another’s backs.
The duo were reportedly getting cosy with each other as they attended the ‘Yams Day benefit concert’ that was held in order to honour the late founder of A$AP Mob – A$AP Yams. Drizzy and Riri reportedly dated in the fall of 2016 for a while. The former couple started dating after the rapper famously introduced Riri saying, “She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. She’s one of my best friends in the world,” while presenting her with the Video Vanguard Awards at the August 2016 VMAs. Although she admitted it made her feel uncomfortable at the time, the two allegedly started seeing each other romantically after that. However, it didn’t seem to last too long as rumours of their breakup soon surfaced. By the end of 2016, Drizzy started flirting with Jennifer Lopez. JLo and Drake shared pictures of them cuddling on Instagram for the next few months in 2017.
Fans are hoping that Rihanna and Drake rekindle their romance and start collaborating together in songs once again.
The reason for the sudden break up of Riri and Jameel is still unknown. The news of the couple dating first broke out back in June of 2017, when they were spotted kissing in Spain. Even though the Umbrella singer preferred to keep her relationship private, she admitted being in a relation to a leading magazine just four months ago. The singer said, “Yeah, I’m dating. I’m actually in an exclusive relationship for quite some time, and it’s going really well, so I’m happy,” however, she did not name Hassan.
