Rihanna Made An Emotional Comeback With Wakanda Forever Soundtrack ‘Lift Me Up’

Just after Lift Me Up debut, fans eagerly took to social media to gush over the 'beautiful' song as well as to praise Rihanna's flawless vocals.

Rihanna’s fans went into a frenzy as the singer’s first solo release in six years debuted on music streaming platforms at midnight Friday. Rihanna’s latest track Lift Me Up featured in the highly-anticipated Marvel film Black Panther sequel Wakanda Forever, which will release in theatres on November 11.

Just after the song’s debut, fans eagerly took to social media to gush over the ‘beautiful’ song as well as to praise Rihanna’s flawless vocals. Being that Rihanna gave birth to her first child with A$AP Rocky and was announced as Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner this year, fans felt as though the song was just another ‘break the internet’ moment for the makeup mogul. Previously, the mother-of-one teased the song’s release by sharing the cover art for Lift Me Up on Instagram.

The singer penned in the caption, ‘Tonight…MIDNIGHT EST. #LiftMeUp.’ Fans shared their excitement as they wrote ‘can’t wait for this’ and ‘the song will be amazing!’ The artwork for the imminent release is a close-up grayscale image of RiRi with her hair surrounding her face. The singer also recently walked down the red carpet of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever with her beau. Talking about the sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been helmed by Ryan Coogler.

The upcoming sequel will follow the leaders of the kingdom of Wakanda, who will fight to protect their nation from invading forces in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Florence Kasumba and Gurira all reprise their roles from the first film. The cast of the Blank Panther sequel will also include Tenoch Huerta, Michaela Coel, and Mabel Cadena. Many of the main stars cast from 2018’s super hit movie Black Panther would be seen returning for the sequel.

Rihanna new song comes just a few weeks after the pop icon confirmed that she will be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show in February 2023. The singer took to her social media and shared a photo hinting that she will perform during the NFL event next year. In the photo, what appears to be Rihanna’s hand holds up a football. Fans and several A-list celebs took to the comment section and showed their excitement.
