Olivia Rodrigo Wins THREE Awards At The Grammys 2022

Olivia dedicated the award to her parents, thanking them for being 'supportive' throughout her glorious ambitions.

Olivia Rodrigo bagged her three prizes at the 2022 Grammy Awards for Pop Solo Performance, Best New Artist, and Best Pop Vocal Album for Sour. The singer was visibly emotional as she took to the stage to accept the first honor, presented to her by Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion. In a heartwarming speech, Olivia called the honor her ‘biggest dream come true.’

She began her acceptance speech while thanking the Recording Academy and her fans. Olivia went on to dedicate the award to her parents, thanking them for being ‘supportive’ throughout her glorious ambitions. “I want to thank my mom for being supportive (of) all of my dreams, no matter how crazy,” she continued. “I want to thank my mom and my dad for being as equally as proud of me for winning a Grammy as they were when I learned how to do a back walkover.”

While concluding her speech, Rodrigo said, “This is for you guys and because of you guys. Thank you.” Sour beat out Planet Her (Deluxe) by Doja Cat, Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish, Positions by Ariana Grande, and Justice by Justin Bieber. Rodrigo is also up for album of the year and record of the year and was nominated for Song of the year and best music video. Earlier in the night, she took home Grammys for best new artist and best pop solo performance.

However, before winning the Grammy, Olivia gave an emotional performance of her record-breaking hit Driver’s License. In addition to kicking off the show with her incredible performance, the Deja Vu hitmaker won her first Grammy for best pop solo performance. Her first-ever single, Driver’s License, earned her Grammy in the Record Of The Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance categories.
