Nicki Minaj’s childhood sweetheart turned husband, Kenneth Petty has a troubled background. In 2019, after being stopped for a traffic violation in Los Angeles, authorities learned that Kenneth had not registered as a s*x offender in California while residing there with Nicki. In September 2021, Kenneth previously entered a guilty plea to the charges. After many extensions on his part, he was also told to pay a fine of USD 5000.

He was accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl in 1994, and as a result, he was forced by law to register as a sex offender in New York before beginning a relationship with Nicki Minaj. Petty failed to register as a s*x offender in California in November 2019, leading to his arrest in March 2020. Petty went out of the state after being married to Minaj in October 2019, therefore he was unable to fulfil his obligation.

According to the reports, Beverly Hills police pulled Kenneth over in November 2019 and discovered that Patty was a registered sex offender in New York but had neglected to fulfil his obligation to do the same in California. He was immediately taken into custody and later released on a USD 20,000 bond. Previously, Petty had already been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the suspected shooting of Lamant Robinson in 2006.
