Priyanka Chopra celebrated her first Mother’s day after welcoming their newborn in 2022 and Nick Jonas made sure to shower her with all the love. Nick Jonas made an appearance on The Tonight Show and revealed to Jimmy Fallon that he and Priyanka celebrated Mother’s day at their house this year.
Nick shared that he gifted Priyanka a citrus tree on the occasion of Mother’s day. He said, “I’m going to plant it this week. I’ll YouTube ‘How To Plant A Tree.'” The gift, of course, holds significance. Nick explained that it represents ‘new life and new things growing.’ The couple welcomed their daughter via surrogacy in January 2022. Their daughter Malti, had to spend 100 days in the NICU before they brought her home. Nick told Jimmy, “Our little girl’s home and it’s been amazing. What a gift.”
Nick and Priyanka shared the first photo of their baby on Mother’s Day but did not reveal their baby girl’s face in order to maintain privacy. They also shared that they have had a few challenging months since Malti’s birth. “On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced. After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home.” they wrote.
They continued on Instagram, “Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way.”
They concluded while noting, “Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a bada**. Let’s get it M! Mommy and Daddy love you.” Priyanka also shared on her Instagram that there is ‘no one,’ she would rather take on parenthood with than Nick. Meanwhile, Nick shared, “You inspire me in every way and you are taking to this new role with such ease and steadiness. I am so grateful to be on this journey with you. You are already an incredible mother.”
