Money Heist: Korea Season 2, Release Date, Plot, Everything We Know So Far

Heist lovers have to wait till next year to watch the fate of the Professor and his team as there's no official announcement of the Money Heist: Korea season 2 release date.

Netflix has recently released the remake of the highly anticipated series, Money Heist. The Korean Version of the Netflix series is very familiar to long-time super fans of the action thriller, mainly because the heist itself and its characters are lifted straight from the Spanish original, even their names. However, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area is basically an adaption of the original series with multiple Korean twists. Moreover, Money Heist Korea season 1 ends with a cliffhanger leaving the audience wanting more.

While there is no official announcement regarding Money Heist: Korea season 2, there are a few things that we can expect. The only difference between Money Heist: Korea and the original La casa de Papel is the geographical and political backdrop against which the heists are set. The Korean adaption is set in a not-too-distant future from the present day, in a world where North and South Korea have become somewhat reunified.

Set during the peace process between the formally warring areas, we meet the heist team at a time in which both sides are forming a Joint Economic Area. Meanwhile, it is yet not known how much this will come into play following the development of season one, which less or more followed story beats from the original show’s first batch of episodes.

However, there seems to be a significant difference in the motives of the two Professors, which might take the Korean version in an exciting and unexpected direction. The upcoming season might show that the Professor planned the heist so he could bring the entire system down. It’s still possible that Oslo and Moscow will die in the course of the next six episodes, just as they did in the original series.

Woojin’s loyalty will be potentially tested if and when she finds out that her boyfriend Paek Sunho is actually the Professor. Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area season 1 premiered on June 24, 2022, on Netflix. It comprises six episodes of 63-79-minute runtime. However, there’s no official announcement of the Money Heist: Korea season 2 release date. So the Heist lovers have to wait till next year to watch the fate of the Professor and his team.
