Michael B. Jordan, one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors, has been confirmed to star in a new remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, with Amazon MGM Studios taking the reins of the classic heist thriller. The project, which has been in development, is a fresh adaptation of the 1968 original, which starred Steve McQueen, and it’s 1999 remake featuring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
This latest version will be produced by Jordan through his Outlier Society along with Elizabeth Raposo, marking the actor’s continued push to diversify his portfolio with high-profile roles in both acting and production.
Drew Pearce wrote the screenplay, while Justin Britt-Gibson gets the credit for the previous draft. The original film’s writer, Alan Trustman, will serve as the executive producer and Marc Toberoff and Patrick McCormick will produce the film too.
The Thomas Crown Affair tells the story of a wealthy and suave art thief who pulls off a daring robbery while remaining under the radar of authorities, only to engage in a high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse with an investigator who seeks to bring him down.
