Meghan Markle recently opened up about a devastating incident emotionally and physically that of suffering a distressing miscarriage over the summer in an intense article for the New York Times.

Earlier this year, Meghan Markle was pregnant with her second child, but unfortunately, the child could not enter the world as she suffered a painful miscarriage.

Meghan recently in her writing for the New York Times, which was released on Nov. 25, shared her heartbreaking experience. She revealed that when she lost her second baby, she was changing her son, Archie’s, diaper.

She explained how tragedy struck on a “morning that began as ordinarily as any other day: Make breakfast. Feed the dogs. Take vitamins. Find that missing sock. Pick up the rogue crayon that rolled under the table. Throw my hair in a ponytail before getting my son from his crib.”

“I dropped to the floor,” recollecting the moment she wrote. “[I] sensed that something was not right. I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second.”

Meghan headed to the hospital with Harry. “[staring] at the cold white walls,”  while “[trying] to imagine how [they’d] heal”. She added, “Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few.”

She added her husband Prince Harry being by her side made her feel calm, “lay in a hospital bed, holding my husband’s hand. I felt the clamminess of his palm and kissed his knuckles, wet from both our tears. Staring at the cold white walls, my eyes glazed over. I tried to imagine how we’d heal.

The reason behind she shared this painful incident is to allow people to check up with others and to make sure they’re all doing okay.’

She also spoke up about miscarriage being a ‘taboo’ subject. “Some have bravely shared their stories; they have opened the door, knowing that when one person speaks truth, it gives license for all of us to do the same,” Meghan further stated.

“We have learned that when people ask how any of us are doing, and when they really listen to the answer, with an open heart and mind, the load of grief often becomes lighter — for all of us. In being invited to share our pain, together we take the first steps toward healing.”
