Machine Gun Kelly And Miley Cyrus Reacts To Being Shut Out Of Grammys 2022 Nominations

Machine Gun Kelly seemed more shocked about not being nominated after he topped the Billboard 200 chart with his 2020 release Tickets to My Downfall.

The 2022 Grammy nominations were recently announced and saw some big surprises and snubs. Machine Gun Kelly and Miley Cyrus were among the first artists to react to the same as both singers were among the high-profile names to get snubbed when the Grammys announced their nominations on Tuesday. Though both Kelly and Cyrus had hit records this past year, none of them received a single nod.

Machine Gun Kelly seemed more shocked about not being nominated after he topped the Billboard 200 chart with his 2020 release Tickets to My Downfall. However, MGK didn’t hold back as he reacted to the news, tweeting, “What is wrong with the Grammys.” Meanwhile, fans of Miley seem certainly disappointed with the news, the singer seemed to be okay with it as she shared an article that consisted of a list of 30 legendary artists who haven’t won Grammys and tweeted saying, “In good company.”

Lana del Rey, Lorde, Normani, and Willow Smith were also left out of the fold completely. However, Lorde herself wasn’t nominated her Solar Power producer Jack Antonoff will be up for producer of the year for the third year in a row. Taylor Swift’s moody pandemic album Evermore earned an Album Of The Year nod, but she was shut out of all other categories. However, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem for Swift, who already has 11 Grammys at home.

Although, Drake’s Certified Lover Boy was a commercial hit but missed the Album Of The Year category, while rival Kanye West’s Donda did make the cut. The Degrassi alum is still up for best rap album and best rap performance for the track Way 2 Sexy. Megan Thee Stallion followed up last year’s Best New Artist win with just a single nomination for best rap performance with Thot S*** while her debut album Good News was overlooked.

Demi Lovato’s confessional album Dancing With The Devil… the Art Of Starting Over also failed to find a nomination, but a remix of the track Met Him Last Night was recognized. Although K-pop giants BTS didn’t get nominated for their album Be or single Permission To Dance, the track Butter did earn a nod in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.
