Lionsgate Television has unveiled an exciting new addition to the John Wick universe as they are working on a sequel series titled Under the High Table. This highly anticipated series will delve deeper into the clandestine world of assassins that captivated audiences in the original films.
The creative team behind the series comprises Robert Levine (known for Black Sails and The Old Man) to pen the script and will serve as showrunner and Keanu Reeves will play the titular role. Chad Stahelski who has contributed significantly to the John Wick franchise will direct the series including the pilot episode. The involvement of Chad Stahelski, the director of the original films, as an executive producer, ensures that the series will retain the high-octane action and stylistic flair that fans have come to expect.
The plot of the upcoming John Wick sequel series follows the events post John Wick: Chapter 4 and its logline is: “John Wick has left the world of the High Table in a tenuous position and a collection of new characters will look to make a name for themselves while some of the franchise stalwart characters remain committed to the old-world order.
