Liam Payne’s cause of death has been officially confirmed three months after the tragic incident that shocked fans worldwide. The former One Direction member passed away on October 16 following a fatal fall from the third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A UK inquest held at Buckinghamshire Coroner’s Court on December 17 identified his medical cause of death as “Polytrauma” a term used for multiple injuries to the body.
The court was informed that determining the exact circumstances leading to his death might reportedly take some time, as investigations are ongoing in Argentina. The tragic news has left millions of fans mourning, as Liam’s sudden death came as a shock to his fans and loved ones.
Argentinian authorities have charged five individuals in connection with the Liam Payne’s cause of death. This includes the hotel’s manager Gilda Martin, receptionist Esteban Grassi and Liam’s friend Roger Nores, who all accused of manslaughter. Additionally, hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra and waiter Braian Paiz face charges of supplying drugs. Court documents allege that Roger abandoned Liam despite knowing his vulnerable state, worsen by addiction issues.
Toxicology reports from the Argentine prosecutor’s office revealed traces of alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant in Liam’s system at the time of death. While a post-mortem examination pointed to severe internal and external injuries from the fall, further investigations are required to clarify the events leading up to the tragic accident.
