After bringing us the The Irishman on Netflix, master filmmaker Martin Scorsese is in final talks to release his upcoming high-priced period thriller Killers of the Flower Moon on the Apple TV. The film that stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro in the lead roles is based on David Grann’s book of the same name. Apple will be credited as the creative studio and shoulder the cost, while Paramount will distribute. As per a source, the studio had fixed the USD 150 million range for the film but the budget rose to USD 225 million. Paramount head Jim Gianopulos resisted, with the insider saying he was ready to allow the price tag to go up to USD 180 million. This marks another major move into the film world for Apple after it acquired the rights to the Tom Hanks’ Greyhound from Sony for $70 million. It previously co-produced On the Rocks with A24, which stars Bill Murray with Sofia Coppola directing.
