Lady Gaga Spills The Beans On Her Mental Health Issues

There’s no doubt that Lady Gaga is among the top-rating artistes in the music industry. Apart from being a sensational singer, Lady Gaga also believes in speaking up about mental health issues. In her recent interview on Sunday Morning‘s Lee Cowan, the 34-year old singer was seen spilling the beans on her mental health journey.

The Poker Face singer said, “I mean, honestly, Lee, I just totally gave up on myself. I hated being famous. I hated being a star. I felt exhausted and used up.”

Speaking more about her mental state, Gaga added, “I don’t know how to explain it. But I went from looking at this piano, and thinking, you ruined my life.”

Lady Gaga continued by saying that at that time my biggest enemy was me and that’s what she was constantly thinking. Clarifying her statement, she said, “My biggest enemy is Lady Gaga. That’s what I was thinking: My biggest enemy is her.”

Gaga recalls a moment when she attempted to fix her father’s trauma with 2016’s Joanne, an album she named after her father’s late sister.

While writing about her father’s trauma, it became her trauma. In many ways, she thought that she can fix her dad but alas she couldn’t.

Adding more details, Gaga said being surrounded by fans and admirers on a constant basis made her feel uncomfortable.

She further made a confession of harming herself as it is tough to tell people you’re suffering from a mental health issue. Later in the conversation, Lady Gaga reveals having dark suicidal thoughts every day.

However, later a realisation hit her that she needs to continue. Since then, Gaga found her way back to happiness.

The singer’s confession proves that life is tough even for the one living in sparkle and glamour. Lady Gaga is an inspiration to many trying to speak up about mental health issues.
