Kristin Cavallari Finally Addressed The Reason Behind Her Divorce From Jay Cutler!
The Very Cavallari star opens up about seeking peace again, five months after confirming the end of her marriage to Jay Cutler after 10 years together.
Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler were the epitome of # CoupleGoals for viewers of their hit show, Very Cavallari, for three seasons.
However in April, just weeks after returning with their kids from the Bahamas, the couples for more than seven years posted surprising Instagram posts detailing their decision to split.
Now, in an interview with a news portal, Cavallari disclosed that she and Cutler, 37, had been suffering for years privately, and made a clear decision to keep their relationship problems secret.
Kristin Cavallari talking about her divorce with Jay Cutler said,“I always thought it was interesting when people would refer to us as ‘couple goals,'” said the founder of Uncommon James, 33, also an author of a new cookbook, True Comfort, on Sept. 29. “I was like, ‘If you guys only knew.'”
As their marriage hit a crisis point last season during filming, Cavalleri said “we definitely kept a lot of stuff private.” She added, “Producers saw stuff, but they didn’t put it in the show — which is good, because I don’t want my kids to ever [see that].”
Although their divorce news apparently came out of the blue, Cavallari says of their divorce, “didn’t happen overnight,” she added, “We tried really, really hard for years and years. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made.”
The estranged couple became embroiled in a tumultuous few weeks of legal back-and-forth in the times after their divorce announcement.
Well now Cavallari claims she and Cutler have settled into a strong co-parenting bond, sharing sons Camden, 8, and Jaxon, 6, and daughter Saylor, 4.
She and Jay might be apart at the end of the day, but they mostly talk to each other as their children’s co-parents the entire time. She says, “I still care so much about him and talk to him almost every day,”
“We have three kids together. He’s going to be in my life forever,” she adds.
Referring to what went wrong she explained, “Every relationship has their stuff. I met Jay when I was 23. I was a baby. Jay and I had so much love for each other, but we grew up.”
“When you work at something for so many years and nothing’s changing, I think you have to just make a decision. We all want to be happy,”she concluded.
Three years ago, in hopes of extending her then-fledgling jewellery company, which has since developed into home and fashion, Cavallari signed up to star in Very Cavallari. Sales of Uncommon James increased after the show ‘s debut, but the emphasis on her personal life also grew.
“My kids are the most important thing to me. What’s best for them?” she went on. “Probably not doing a reality show, having to talk about divorcing their dad.”
“The most important thing to me is my girls. What’s better for them?” she went on. “Probably not making a reality show, trying to worry about their father being divorced.”
The way she dreamed her marriage didn’t turn out, but Cavallari hopes and embraces everything that’s still to come.
Unapologetic about her decision to divorce she said, “I’m proud for making this decision,” further talking about starting afresh she added, “It wore at me every single day for years. I feel like my whole world is opening up now because of it, and I’m just feeling the best I’ve felt in a really long time. I’m really excited about the future all around.”
It is still necessary for two individuals to trust in each other for a good marriage, hang on to hardship and find a better path. The pair wanted to divide paths for the good, and this is what might be meant for them.
