The sudden news of popular South Korean star Song Jae-rim has came in as a shock for the Korean entertainment industry, who are now mourning the loss of the actor. 39-year-old was found dead in his apartment in Seoul’s Seongdong District on November 12, as reported by Soompi.
Song Jae-rim, known for his roles in popular K-dramas like The Moon Embracing the Sun, passed away under circumstances is still under investigation by the local police. Authorities discovered a two-page letter at the scene, heightening concerns about his recent state of mind.
Song Jae Rim’s family has organized a memorial space at Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital Funeral Hall with his younger sister named as the chief mourner, as per the reports in Xportsnews. Fans around the world have expressed their sorrow, sharing messages of condolences and recalling the impact he had on their lives through his work.

The actor rose to fame 2012, portraying the loyal bodyguard Kim Jae Won in the historical drama The Moon Embracing the Sun. He became a familiar face in K-drama with significant roles in series like Inspiring Generation, Goodbye Mr. Black, Unkind Ladies and more. In 2024, Song was starred in Queen Woo and My Military Valentine, adding depth to his career with varied roles and consistently strong performances.
Beyond his on-screen presence, Song Jae Rim became widely known for his stint on We Got Married where he appeared alongside actress Kim So Eun, capturing the hearts of viewers with his charm and humour. His last public appearance was in August on MBC FM4U’s Good Morning FM, where he spoke lightheartedly about his plans to explore unique hobbies, including fragrance blending and meat processing.
