Kelly Clarkson and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, have reportedly filed for divorce after 7 years of marriage. According to ET the reason given in her legal documents is major disagreements. Kelly and Brandon got married in 2013 and they have share two children: five-year-old daughter River and four-year-old son Remington Alexander.
The couple, along with her stepchildren, Seth, 13, and Savannah, 18, has been socially distancing with their children on their estate out in Montana.
“It’s a really beautiful ranch, and it’s a nice getaway for our family,” she said in a YouTube video on March 31. “It’s something Brandon and I have dreamed about since we were both kids. This is what we would call home.”
Like his father, Narvel Blackstock, Brandon also works as a talent manager. Clarkson said at an interview that it was love at first sight while he was already married to his first wife.
In 2018, Clarkson spoke to Marie Claire about how she worked with Blackstock, whom she hired as their manager. “Well, I think it comes down to respect,” she said.
“I wouldn’t have hired Brandon to be my manager if I didn’t see first-hand how great he is at that and how much he cares about Blake [Shelton]. And the way that [Blake’s] career has blown up, I would have hired Brandon regardless. He’s really talented at what he does and his mind really does work in a completely different way. I’m always like ‘is this your manager hat?’ And he’ll go ‘oh, is this your artist hat? Are we going there? [laughs]’ So, we’re pretty good about that. I mean, we just have the regular marriage, kids thing, to where it’s like ‘I am not putting them to bed, you are.'”
Although Kelly Clarkson & Brandon Blackstock is not the first couple to split amid coronavirus lockdown couples like Jordana Brewster and Andrew Form and Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox have confirmed the split recently.
