Katy Perry Turns Up The Heat As She Unveils Her Electrifying Video For When I’m Gone With Alesso

When I'm Gone was originally released on December 29 and became the first global music video to premiere during a live broadcast of the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship.

Katy Perry has recently teamed up with Grammy-nominated DJ-producer Alesso, as the music video for their first-ever collaboration, When I’m Gone. The video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis, who previously helmed videos for Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Miley Cyrus, Jessie J, Halsey, Christina Aguilera, and Charli XCX.

The video starts with the 37-year-old pop diva making a call inside an old-fashion phone booth and saying, “You know, I just think it’s time to give them everything they want.” Katy is accompanied inside a Los Angeles factory by the new SpotMini, a four-legged robot made by Boston Dynamics. Katy Perry is then seen performing a choreographed dance in an inch puddle of water with thigh-high white boots on.

The American Idol judge is also seen wearing a purple jumpsuit with matching opera gloves while performing with even more backup dancers. The third set-up for When I’m Gone, which was originally released on December 29, was inside a sterile server room filled with computers and red lasers. When I’m Gone made history on ESPN as the first global music video to premiere during a live broadcast of the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship at 8 pm EST.

The De Soi founder said in a statement, “When it comes to my music videos we all know I like to push the boundaries and myself and create unique opportunities for my fans to see them.” “ESPN and especially College GameDay hold a special place in my heart, so partnering with Alesso to become the first artists to ever debut a global music video within a live event on ESPN made for a perfect and natural pairing.”

However, Alesso revealed they waited ‘the whole year’ to finally share it with their fans, “I loved working with her and think this song and video came out super special.” Katy also reminded her legion of ‘KatyCats’ to tag her in all their videos after they learn the choreo, “I know [you] will!”

Katy Perry took to her Instagram to share a clip from When I’m Gone and captioned, “the W.I.G. fun ain’t over just yet! go to the link in my bio for a chat with me and @alesso about #WHENIMGONE right before the @youtube premiere at 8:00p PT (and tag me in all ur videos after u learn that choreo I know u will.”
