Pretty in Black!
Katie Holmes did not fail to surprise fans with her gorgeous look continuing her on-going fashion streak as she opted for an all-black outfit donning a stunning black off-the-shoulder wool top paired with black straight-leg trousers and Hanna 105mm bow mules of the same colour all by Venezuelan fashion designer Caroline Herrera as she attended the exclusive Whitney Museum’s Art Party in New York City. The Dawson’s Creek star completed her look with a subtle Todd’s 2020/ss Timeless black bag.
Holmes spoke to a leading magazine back in November about the internet labelling her as a fashion icon saying, “I mean, I think it’s very nice. I try to look appropriate for things and have fun with it as well,” she explained. “I also work with a stylist, so that helps because I don’t know everything that’s out there. I depend on other people to help me, and to collaborate with, and to bounce ideas off of, things like that. I feel very fortunate to be able to be in a creative profession, and part of the joy of that is dressing, and enjoying the opportunity to wear new designers. I have fun with it.”
Holmes explained that even though she’s open to trying different looks, she only dons outfits she feels comfortable in. “I try lots of different things,” she said. “I’m not scared of certain looks. But I really feel like if you don’t feel comfortable, don’t do it. You should wear what you feel comfortable with, and be confident in yourself, and know that what you like is enough, and you look great, and own it.”
