Justin Baldoni’s much-anticipated Pac-Man movie is facing uncertainty, all because of growing legal battle that has left the filmmaker’s career in jeopardy. The movie which had been in development since 2022 through Baldoni’s production company Wayfarer Studios was expected to bring the classic 1980s video game icon to life on the big screen. However, with recent developments surrounding this legal feud with co-star Blake Lively from It Ends With Us, Baldoni’s future in the industry is now clouded.
The Pac-Man movie, which had an intriguing team behind it – featuring Thor: Ragnarok writer Christopher Yost and producers from Sonic the Hedgehog—now faces major roadblocks. Sources close to Baldoni claim that the director has lost multiple projects, including Pac-Man, after Lively accused him of sexual harassment during the making of their film. As the situation escalated, Baldoni countered with a defamation lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

The Pac-Man Movie, which could have been a nostalgic hit for fans of the game, now finds itself at risk. WME, the Hollywood agency that had been helping Wayfarer package and finance projects, severed ties with Baldoni and his team. This move has made it clear that the director’s reputation in Hollywood has taken a hit, leaving the future of the Pac-Man Movie uncertain.
Though the Pac-Man Movie is not entirely off the table, the chances of Baldoni directing it seem slim as the legal battle rages on. As sources suggest, nearly every partner involved with Wayfarer is reconsidering their association with the company. With all eyes on Baldoni’s legal woes, it’s unclear if Pac-Man will ever make it to theaters under his direction.
