Joey King Gets Candid On Her Disney Days To Two Big Action Movies

Joey King is all set to star in two The Princess and Japan-set thriller Bullet Train with an ensemble cast.

Joey King is into acting since childhood! And recently, the actress reflected on her amazing journey. Joey famously got her big break in 2006 playing Emily in two episodes of the Sprouse Twins’ Disney Channel sitcom, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The Emmy nominee gushed in a recent interview, “The way my career has grown is really amazing.”

The actress added, “When I was a kid in this industry, my biggest dream was to be in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and that’s a perfect dream for a girl. I feel lucky to still see my work with as much enthusiasm as when I was four years old.” King further said, “So whether it’s a show on the Disney Channel or two big action movies premiering in the same year, that giddy feeling has never gone away.”

Joey executive produced and played the titular role in Le-Van Kiet’s action drama The Princess, which will release this Friday on Hulu. King will also play whitewashed teen assassin The Prince in David Leitch’s Japan-set thriller Bullet Train, hitting US/UK theatres on August 5, which is an adaptation of Kōtarō Isaka’s 2021 novel. The ensemble action flick also stars Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Shannon, Bad Bunny, Zazie Beetz, Masi Oka, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Karen Fukuhara.

Previously, Joey King starred in the Netflix hit movie The Kissing Booth franchise and The In Between. The star admitted she’s ‘not always a confident person’ but what makes her feel powerful ‘is knowing that I really believe in myself and I think I’m smart.’ Joey also chatted about her fiancé Steven Piet, who popped the question on February 2 at Joshua Tree National Park after three years of dating. “What makes me really happy are the moments that seem mundane but are full of life, like doing everyday chores with my fiancé,” King said.

The actress added, “Those are the things I think about when one of us is away from the other and I miss him. Things that are really simple but have a lot of meaning and perspective, that’s the best. And as for hobbies, I love to cook and eat in general. Finding good restaurants wherever I am is my hobby.” The SAG Award nominee originally met the 31-year-old News & Documentary Emmy-nominated DP on the set of Hulu’s The Act sometime between October 2018-February 2019.
