One day before their wedding, on August 19, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were photographed heading to a hospital in the Savannah, Georgia region so that Ben’s mother, Chris Anne Boldt, could get sutures after collapsing at their wedding destination, Ben’s 87-acre Georgia mansion.
Around 12:30 p.m., Chris was brought to the Liberty County Medical Center to receive treatment for her injuries after falling from the pier of the stunning property, which views out over the North Newport River. According to the Daily Mail, Chris sliced her leg in the accident. According to a source close to the couple, Chris’ injuries are “not serious.”
Jennifer, 53, was captured on camera following Ben in a cute pink and white checkered sundress while carrying a tan Dior purse. Ben, 50, sported a purple graphic t-shirt and white shorts. Ben went back to the hospital outside to light a cigarette after Chris was comfortable inside.
Although he had smoked for a long time, he claimed to have given up after portraying a chain smoker in the 2006 film “Smokin’ Aces.” “The whole week that I shot, I smoked, like, five packs a day,” he told People in 2007. “By the time the movie was over, I was so sick of smoking, I just didn’t want to do it anymore, and I quit. I have this celluloid record of the last time I smoked.”
He has now resumed smoking and was seen doing so on the balcony of a Miami property he and Jennifer were renting in May 2021. In another shot of Ben, he sipped from a plastic cup and appeared to notice the paparazzi taking photographs of him.
The couple’s wedding festivities are set to begin on Friday night with a welcome supper for relatives and friends, but the unexpected hospital stay might derail those preparations. Chris was first seen with Ben and Jen, with their children, on August 18, and she looked to be in high spirits. They were spotted on a family trip in Savannah’s Historic District.
