On Saturday, July 30, the 38-year-old Jane the Virgin star took to Instagram to post a video announcing the wonderful news – which also happened to fall on her birthday! “This birthday hits different,” she appropriately captioned the video. Gina shared several pieces of her life with Joe in the adorable post, with each one showing the couple kissing.
Gina has tears in her eyes as she puts up a positive pregnancy test in the mirror with her lovely spouse embracing her from behind at the conclusion of the montage, which is accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack of Calum Scott’s “You Are The Reason.” Gina’s comment box was swamped with messages of love and support, including a couple from her celebrity pals. “So happy for you,” Taraji P. Henson commented, while Brittany Snow said, “Yaaaaaay my love!! So much love for you THREE.”
Jaime Camil, her Jane the Virgin co-star, responded, “My heart is bursting for you tw.” While Joe did not publicly announce Gina’s pregnancy on Instagram, he did post a birthday tribute to his wife on the day of her announcement. “Wherever you go my heart follows,” he wrote. “Happy Birthday my Goddess. @hereisgina”
The expecting couple wed in May 2019, and Gina uploaded a second, deeply moving video of the occasion to Instagram. She announced to ET a year earlier that she was engaged to the businessman, saying, “Life is good. Love is good. He did great [with the ring]. He did great. Yeah, ’cause it’s my style, right? That’s all that matters. He knows what I like and he knows my heart and he rocks.”
Jaime, who portrayed Gina’s father on the successful TV drama, also expressed his admiration for the pair to the site. “It’s incredible,” he added at the time, “because we love [Gina]. She’s a dear friend of the family… knowing Gina and how much we love her and how much our kids love her, she’s part of the family, so whenever a family member does well or is successful, you celebrate.”
