Amid the vigilante outbreak of Palisades wildfire in Los Angeles, Hollywood actor Jamie Lee Curtis has pledged 1 million dollars to aid a fire relief fund for the victims. In a post on social media, Curtis revealed that she and her husband, Christopher Guest, are making a significant donation to support recovery efforts.
The actress-producer also appeared emotional as she arrived on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘The Tonight Show’ to call for support for those affected. In an Instagram post, the actor announced the donation while sending her prayers to all those affected by the wildfire. “As the fire still rages on, and all the available first responders and agencies involved in fighting fire and saving lives are still hard at work and neighbors and friends are banding together to save each other, my husband and I and our children have pledged $1 million from our Family Foundation to start a fund of support for our great city and state and the great people who live and love there,” she wrote in her caption.
The 66-year-old further disclosed in the show that while her home was spared from the advancing fires, many of her neighbours were impacted, and she expressed her commitment to doing whatever she could to assist. In a clip shared on Fallon Tonight, Jamie Curtis can be heard saying, “As you know where I live is on fire right now. Literally, the entire city of the Pacific Palisades is burning. I flew here last night.”
Several Hollywood celebrities, including Matthew Perry, Sandra Lee, Adam Brody and Paris Hilton, are among the hundreds of LA residents who have lost their homes to the devastating wildfires.
