It’s Hard For Daniel Radcliffe To Believe The Harry Potter Cast Is Old Enough To Be Parents

“I mean that is like still wild to me that we are now at the stage where we are having kids and I’m sure that is a fact that makes the rest of the world feel very old.”

It has been nearly 20 years since the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer ‘s Stone in theatres. So, as you can imagine, since then, all the original cast have grown quite a bit and made them old enough to be parents.  And if that surprises you, then you’re not alone; Daniel Radcliffe from Harry Potter feels the same thing.

All this comes in the wake of the recent news that Rupert Grint, who was played the best friend of Harry Potter – Ron Weasley, had his first child with his wife Georgia Groome. Now, Daniel Radcliffe shares his disbelief in being able to be parents now, in an interview with Today Show Australia. Here is what he was saying:

“Look we’re not as close as we once were, but technically I’ve Rupert and Tom, I’ve texted them actually both quite a bit recently because of Rupert’s baby. I mean that is like still wild to me that we are now at the stage where we are having kids and I’m sure that is a fact that makes the rest of the world feel very old. Yeah, I’m genuinely just like, so happy for him and Georgia. He is going to be an awesome dad.”

As for Daniel Radcliffe, he still has no kids. But recently Stephen Colbert revealed his willingness to build pretty amazing Lego sets, so if he ever wants to have kids one day, he already has some great father skills.

His latest movie is Escape from Pretoria, about an actual prison break that took place in apartheid South Africa, which he believes is a story more people should know about. And he seems to have enjoyed making these kinds of movies for the past seven years or so, shying away from jumping back into some sequel or remake.

What Potterheads care about, of course, is that Daniel Radcliffe will continue doing what he’s best known for — Harry Potter. So there are just a few ways this could ever happen because he’s 30, now. Once, J.K. Rowling might always be able to pen another sequel, maybe of Harry Potter as an older wizard, but she’s also said it’s unlikely to happen.

While time has gone by and Daniel Radcliffe has pulled apart from the other co-actors of Harry Potter, from time to time it seems they still get together. Maybe it’ll be one big family reunion in ten more years.
