Tristan Thompson has finally released an official statement stating that he was indeed in a long sexual relationship with Maralee Nichols, a woman who had slapped him with child care support and had claimed that she had birthed his third child. The athlete has confirmed to have seen each other ‘sporadically’ between December 2020 to March 2021 and revealed that their relationship was based only on ‘sexual’ grounds.
“Our relationship was based on sex. We would not have seen each other in Houston if we were not going to have sex. We don’t have any dates in the traditional sense at any time” read his official declaration. He also shared how Maralee was also actively involved with other athletes and knew the boundaries and limitations of their relationship.
Amid all these, the fitness model Maralee decided to clear the air and finally broke her silence. She released a lengthy statement to “defend her character”
“I met Tristan in 2020 at a party at his home in Encino, California. He told me he was single and co-parenting,” a part of her statement read.
The NBA star was dating Khloe Kardashian back in those days. “I would never have gotten involved with Tristan if I thought he was in a relationship,” Maralee further explained. It was then that Khloe and Tristan decided to call it quits after giving their relationship a second chance.
“I told him the news of my pregnancy in person in North Carolina. Despite the challenges that I know I would have as a single mother and Tristan’s reaction to my pregnancy, I told Tristan I would be having the baby,” Nichols said.
She also shared that the 30-year-old athlete, who shares a daughter True with Khloe Kardashian and a son Price with Jordan Craig didn’t even consider offering her financial aid after the news of her pregnancy.
“Tristan has not helped me financially with my pregnancy or with our baby,” Nichols claimed. “I have paid 100 percent for my son’s expenses. I did not ask Tristan for any money, nor did I accept any money that was offered to me” she mentions. She also expressed her desire to keep her pregnancy as private and peaceful as possible “wish that I didn’t even have to send this statement,” she continued.
“I did not file any request for child support before our child was born,” she further alleged.
Ex Khloe Kardashian likes to keep it cool and hopes that the NBA star should actually co-parent the baby if he was the baby’s father.
“Khloé hopes that Tristan and Maralee figure out their co-parenting duties in private if he is the father,” an insider shared.
“The last thing Khloé wants to do is add any more fuel to the fire regarding all the drama surrounding Tristan and [Maralee]” concluded the insider.
