Name Of Reboot – The series totally changing and ditching their iconic Sex and the City name which we all really love a lot for this reboot taking cues from the narrator Carrie herself which is why its titled And Just Like That.

We surely can expect a 10 episodic series which would primarily revolve and also revisit around the iconic SATC  characters 20 years from now on.

The news of the reboot for Sex And The City first came on social media by December 2020 when a leading digital online portal claimed that HBO Max was considering a new limited series. And then Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) confirmed the news by posting about it on the social media, but Kim Cattrall who played sex-crazed PR guru Samantha Jones is not returning to the series.

When and where will And Just Like That air – The series has finally started their shoot and filming in the big apple so currently at the moment we can say that things are finally underway and in commenced in a full swing wherein Sarah Jessica Parker accidentally did end up slipping out this news in a now deleted insta post on her account in which she dropped the picture of her character Carrie Bradshaw’s famous Manhattan apartment and in caption she also expressed about how it actually felt so ‘surreal’ to be back on the sets almost 20 years later.

Her caption for the deleted insta post had read, “Pure coincidence AND JUST LIKE THAT, we find ourselves on this street called Perry the night before it all begins again. MPK here we go. And I’m thrilled and terrified”.

New cast members for the much awaited And Just Like That apart from the main and principal star cast include six new characters who are going to be introduced within the new episodes in which three of them are series regulars who are actually women of colour.

On the same, HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys shared about how Sarah Jessica Parker and Michael Patrick King were adamant that they “didn’t want to tell a story with all-white writers or an all-white cast” because “it’s not reflective of New York. So they are being very, very conscious about understanding that New York has to reflect the way New York looks today”.

Finally, HBO now also has confirmed that cult and globally loved TV series Grey’s Anatomy’s Sara Ramirez has been cast in the Sex And the City reboot, wherein she would be seen essaying “a nonbinary, queer stand-up comedian” called Che Diaz who “hosts a podcast on which Carrie Bradshaw is regularly featured”. This Mexican – American actor came out as nonbinary last year.

In their official statement for this, HBO said, “Che is a big presence with a big heart whose outrageous sense of humor and progressive, human overview of gender roles has made them and their podcast very popular”.

Along with the new cast, the writing team is also including a more assorted and unconventional team with comedian Samantha Irby onboard.

A leading global newspaper publication also reported that the show’s legendary costume designer Patricia Field isn’t returning to the reboot.

Talking about enigmatic Mr. Big, Aiden and Steve’s return as the main principal cast of SATC’s next chapter titled And Just Like That, finally a senior production source in his quote to the said leading global newspaper publication has confirmed, “Viewers will definitely see Big, Aiden and Steve”.

The iconic show Sex And The City’s executive producer Michael Patrick King confirming Mr. Big’s return to the screens and series, said, “I’m thrilled to be working with Chris again on ‘And Just Like That…’ How could we ever do a new chapter of the ‘Sex And The City’ story without our Mr. Big?”.

Three more original cast members have been confirmed to join the reboot this time wherein fans would definitely be seeing legendary Willie Garson returning as Carrie’s other BFF pal Stanford Blatch, along with his on-screen husband Anthony Marantino (Mario Cantone) along with the fact that even Charlotte’s husband Harry (Evan Handler) will be back on our screens for the reboot too.

In a statement about the news, the show’s executive producer Michael Patrick King said, “Everyone at And Just Like That… is thrilled to be able to continue the storylines of these beloved Sex and the City characters with the actors who made them so lovable”.

Main plot for the reboot –

According to the globally reliable and trusted IMDb, the show will follow the three friends, “as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s”.

Opening up on the same, Sarah Aubrey who is the head of original content at HBO Max, said, “I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humour and the beloved city that has always defined them”.
