Hollywood Pays Tribute To ‘Lovecraft Country’ Actor Michael K. Williams

From musicians to his co-actors, many pay tribute to Michael K. Williams on Social Media who left his fans yesterday.

Five-time Emmy nominee veteran actor, Michael K. Williams, known for his role as Baltimore stick-up man Omar Little on HBO’s The Wire has been found dead on Monday afternoon in his apartment in Brooklyn. Michel Godest, William’s lawyer confirmed his death.

According to the law enforcement source, drug paraphernalia was found near his body. Another official informed that the investigation is going on. Through Marianna Shafran, his PR, William’s family announced the news of his death to the media. They have also asked for privacy.

Hollywood is stunned by this news. Social Media have flooded with tributes for the star.

When They See Us, co-star, Niecy Nash took Instagram to pay the tribute to remember the iconic Williams. She posted a photograph with him. The caption reads – “You were a beautiful soul, a kind spirit & a good time… a talent beyond measure.” She continued, “Thank you for the many times we traded energy and you made me feel like family. You left us too soon… Praying for your loved ones.”

The Wire fame actor Wendell Pierce who starred as a Detective Bunk Moreland alongside Williams took Twitter to pay tribute.

He tweeted with a moving Twitter thread – “The depth of my love for this brother, can only be matched by the depth of my pain learning of his loss. He added, “An immensely talented man with the ability to give voice to the human condition portraying the lives of those whose humanity is seldom elevated until he sings their truth.”

Orlando Jones also took Twitter to express his grief. He appeared with Williams in I Think I Love My Wife. He tweeted – “immense pain he felt to hear Williams had died. He further added, “Rest in Power Michael K Williams Prayers Up. Spirits shook. Pain immense. Keep your head up family. We’ll pull through but first, let’s give this black man every last one of his (followers). Hold on to the ones you (love).”

Williams was one of Hollywood stars whose charismatic smile lit up the screen. His outstanding acting skills made him a household name. He had covered a multitude of genres, including comedies and thrillers, and acted in around 12 films.

The actor memorably played and was famed for his role as Omar Little on HBO in the TV series The Wire. The series with five seasons became the most popular television show from 2002 to 2008. He also acted in Films – Lovecraft Country, Boardwalk Empire, and The Night Of. The actor with a charismatic style and ironic personification has marvelously acted in the films included – 12 Years A Slave, Gone Baby Gone, and Inherent Vice.
