The last two years were a little unusual as moviegoers were still less in number. Moreover, Hollywood had to make a number of adjustments due to safety concerns. However, as things are almost back to normal now, the highly anticipated movies are finally set to hit theatres. 2023 will see a series of most anticipated superhero titles, actions, thrillers and more.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
The highly anticipated sequel to Ant-Man will see Lang and van Dyne exploring the Quantum Realm along with their family and face Kang the Conqueror. The Ant-Man sequel is set to release on February 17, 2023.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods
Shazam! Fury of the Gods continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word “SHAZAM!” is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam. The sequel will hit theatres on March 17.
John Wick: Chapter 4
Keanu Reeves is returning with his most awaited, John Wick: Chapter 4. John Wick uncovers a path to defeating The High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes. John Wick: Chapter 4 will premiere on March 24.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Directed by James Gunn, the third instalment in the film will follow Peter Quill, who is still reeling from the loss of Gamora, rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own – a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theatres on May 5.
Fast X
The second-to-last instalment of the Fast And Furious franchise will see Vin Diesel and his team back together, this time joined by franchise newcomer Brie Larson. You can watch Fast X on May 19.
Extraction 2
After the huge success of Extraction, the sequel is finally coming to the streaming giant. The first movie left fans with a major cliffhanger, however, in Extraction 2 black ops mercenary Tyler Rake a.k.a Chris Hemsworth returns for another high-stakes mission after being presumed dead in the first film. Extraction 2 release date is yet to be officially revealed but the film is expected to release in June 2023.
The Flash
Ezra Miller will lead the DC superhero stand-alone that will see the return of Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton as Batmans. The Flash will hit theatres on June 23.
Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny
The latest instalment in Indiana Jones films is set in 1969, against the backdrop of the Space Race, and sees Jones, along with a goddaughter played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, attempt to uncover whether the U.S. government recruited their former World War II enemies in desperation to beat the Soviet Union. Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny will release on June 30.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One
Tom Cruise was recently seen performing the dangerous stunt for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which just made fans hard to wait. However, the upcoming film is the seventh entry in the long-running Mission: Impossible series. Tom Cruise’s film will be released in theatres on July 14.
Oppenheimer
Based on true events, Christopher Nolan’s movie, Oppenheimer is about the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on July 21.
Dune: Part Two
Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavours to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee. Dune: Part Two is set to release in theatres on November 3.
Aquaman 2: The Lost Kingdom
Starring Jason Mamoa and Amber Heard, Aquaman 2: The Lost Kingdom, follows Aquaman as he forges an uneasy alliance with an unlikely ally in a bid to save Atlantis and the rest of the planet. The Aquaman sequel will hit theatres on 25 December.
