“The virus has delayed the processing of the extradition paperwork,” said Greg Risling, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. “There is no time estimate on when he will appear in a Los Angeles courtroom.”

LA authorities arrested Weinstein with two counts of restraint sexual battery, and one count each of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, and sexual penetration — all of which emanate from three women’s allegations.

The LA lawsuit claims that on Feb. 18, 2013, Weinstein harassed an Italian model at Mr. C Beverly Hills hotel and the next day sexually assaulted Lauren Young at Montage Beverly Hills hotel. He is alleged to have sexually harassed a third woman at an unidentified hotel in Beverly Hills on May 11, 2010.

On March 11, the LADA office said that the extradition process had begun, but the coronavirus outbreak has since caused courthouses on both coasts to suspend most of the office’s operations.

A Manhattan jury convicted former Hollywood kingmaker Miriam “Mimi” Haleyi in 2006 for allegedly performing oral sex on former “Project Runway” production assistant Miriam and hairstylist Jessica Mann in 2013.

Weinstein was sent to 23 years in prison in March and is currently serving his time at the upstate New York Correctional Facility in Wende. A spokesman for the producer, Juda Engelmayer, said his lawyers plan to appeal the judgment but have yet to file their motion.

Instead of all the proof against him, Weinstein has denied participation in non-consensual sexual activities.
