Harry Styles Cancels Concert In Denmark After Mall Shooting

After a shooting left many people dead at a mall in Copenhagen, Denmark, where Harry Styles was scheduled to play Sunday night, he is 'heartbroken.'

After cancelling Sunday’s performance, Styles posted on Twitter to express his sorrow over what had happened and his sympathy for the ‘victims, their families, and everyone hurting’ as a result of the shooting at Field’s, a store in the Danish capital. The 28-year-old singer wrote on Twitter, “I’m heartbroken along with the people of Copenhagen. I adore this city. The people are so warm and full of love. I’m devastated for the victims, their families, and everyone hurting.”

“I’m sorry we couldn’t be together. Please look after each other. H,” he added. Following the incident on Sunday, Styles and his crew chose to cancel their performance at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena, the most recent stop on their Love on Tour’s European leg. Since a new date for Styles’ concert in Copenhagen has not yet been revealed, it is unclear if the event will be postponed. At least three people were murdered when a shooter opened fire at a shopping centre in the Copenhagen region, according to Police Inspector Søren Thomassen.

Several more were injured, three of whom are in severe condition. The suspect in custody is a 22-year-old Danish male who was apprehended near the Fields retail centre, Thomassen said at a press conference following the shooting. While the incident is still being investigated, Thomassen stated during his briefing that terrorism cannot be ruled out entirely. “Denmark was hit by a horrific attack on Sunday night. Several people have been killed,” Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen shared on Facebook.

Even more, people were injured. Innocent families out shopping or eating. Children, young and adults,” Denmark’s Prime Minister added. “Sending my deepest sympathy to those who lost their loved ones.” Along with Styles’ concert, a Tour de France event was postponed, with the Danish royal house confirming that a reception with Crown Prince Frederik related to the Tour de France had been cancelled as a result of the incident. This year, the first three stages of the race were conducted in Denmark, with the reception set to take place aboard the royal boat in Soenderborg, where the third stage concluded.
